A year in the life...

After we moved into our new (old) house, I spent a lot of time looking for inspiration in my new surroundings. The front of the house faces East and gets the sunrise. The back of the house faces West and gets the sunset. In addition, the sunrise and sunset vary their positions with the season, so the lighting is unique every day. Here, my shadow is falling on the dark red paneling in the library. While the original image was interesting, it lacked strength. Manipulating the colors of the sunlit area and adding texture gave it the visual message that I was looking for.
