Here we are in Tokyo. It is the summer of 1965. Just a year earlier, Tokyo had hosted the Olympics, so everything was standing tall. There was still some open space but it would slowly evolve, forty years later, into one of the most crowded cities in the world.

It's late afternoon, with the sun in a hazy sky. In the background, what looks like the Eiffel tower is actually the Tokyo tower, a slightly larger replica used to host radio and TV antennas. To the left is one of the many temples that dot Tokyo.

In the foreground, four schoolboys, in their uniforms, on their way home from school.

The whole scene had an incredible, unreal aura.
