A year in the life...

Many years ago, on a blistering summer day in Los Angeles, I found myself in Griffith Park. I was trying to find some way to depict the kind of day it was.Through a long telephoto lens, the distinctive shape of the observatory stands out against the sun. The man below gives a sense of scale. The colors and the overall look are pretty much the way it showed up on film. Perhaps a slight crop to tighten up the final result. The title of this picture was first used by Man Ray, for one of his paintings. I hope that he won't mind that I have borrowed it.
